Fueling Economic Growth through Innovation and Sustainability
“Innovation distinguishes a leader and a follower”
– Steve Jobs
ConnXus was founded in 2010 by Rod Robinson due to his frustrations with the inability to identify new, quality, diverse suppliers as a result of incomplete databases, fragmented resources, and expensive software during his time as a chief procurement officer for Cincinnati Bell.
Since then we have continued to build and develop our platform, creating a complete, convenient, and cost-effective solution to meet the needs of both buyers and suppliers. Woven into the fabric of our company culture is the motto #WeLead. This represents the trail-blazing precedent we set in the supplier management industry. In just seven years ConnXus has gone from a new player in the supplier diversity field to one of the nation’s leading supplier management companies with over 20 subscription-based Fortune 2000 company clients.
At ConnXus, we strive to promote economic growth in the supplier management and diversity space by creating innovative, sustainable solutions for global supply chains.
Changing the Game
As a former chief procurement officer (CPO), Rod witnessed firsthand that diverse and inclusive supplier networks drive higher levels of innovation, cost efficiency, and value.
Even today, there is a noticeable disconnect in the ease and access of corporations utilizing small and diverse-owned businesses. ConnXus has made it our mission to establish ourselves as the premier supplier management and diversity platform through our continued technical and strategic innovation in a currently unconsolidated market.
At ConnXus, we continue to develop new ways to simplify and streamline the procurement process. Our up-and-coming ConnXus Risk Scorecard™ is a high-level supplier financial risk assessment that provides buyers a comprehensive picture of each supplier’s financial status and potential, ensuring a positive outcome and allowing suppliers with outstanding scores to stand out from the rest. Furthermore, our ConnXSmart® matchmaking tool facilitated 180 meetings between 68 Procter & Gamble (P&G) primes and diverse suppliers during the Business Opportunity Exchange at the 2015 National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) annual conference. Our procurement solutions provide buyers with easily accessible strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and supplier diversity tools from one central, cloud-based space.
In addition, suppliers have the option to create a company profile – at no charge, or upgrade to a more sustainable business membership – ConnXus Platinum. The basic company profile membership prominently displays business certifications, provides access to bid opportunities – which now includes a stream of SAP Ariba opportunities – and exclusive business discounts from our strategic partners. The ConnXus Supplier Development Program includes these benefits plus registration portal services, priority invitations to sourcing events, business coaching and more, for just $199 per year.
Six months ago, we expanded our capabilities to encompass the greater supplier management space as well as supplier diversity, and just last week we were featured in Spend Matters Vendor Solution and received rave reviews. Innovation is a crucial part of our success as a software-based supplier management platform, and ConnXus continues to develop new solutions in accordance with our buyer and supplier clients’ evolving needs.
Powering the Future-Proof Supply Chain
In today’s global economy, supply chain sustainability has become an economic, environmental, and ethical responsibility. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, minority purchasing power may represent an increasing share of total purchasing power, from 20 percent in 2000 to 32 percent in 2045. This diversification of our economy requires the foresight to adapt and adhere to the economic benefits that this will undoubtedly bring, and ConnXus has made sure that our products provide the tools and resources buyers and suppliers need to pursue sustainable and inclusive supply chain initiatives.
Our latest sustainability tool, the ConnXus Economic Impact Report™ (EIR), enables procurement managers to make intelligent and informed decisions about their supply chain. Using Tier 1 spend data, you receive an interactive, real-time overview of your company’s tier 1 impact on the United States economy, allowing you to analyze and improve your economic sustainability efforts. You can also submit Tier 2 spend date for a more comprehensive impact report. Your personalized EIR allows you to view spend concentrations by state, city, diversity category, and more.
As inclusive initiatives saturate almost every facet of today’s global landscape, ConnXus has engineered the modern tools that supply chain managers need to make intelligent decisions on building a sustainable supply base.
